Industrial Bark Grinder
Pulverizes wet or dry bark into fine or coarse particles
In wood industry operations. the disposal of bark can pose
difficult and costly problems. Until now, bark has been hard to reduce,
especially when wet and stringy. Accumulated in scrap piles, its leached
acids can pollute nearby streams and water supplies. Burned, it
contaminates the atmosphere, a much-criticized practice that is now
outlawed in many communities. Hauled away to the town dump or for
landfill, it has no economic value and, of course, involves trucking
costs. But bark, when properly processed, has the potential for serving many useful purposes and of bringing to its supplier substantial dollar gains. NOW THERE IS A WAY.. AND A MARKET
The
Schutte Bark Grinder, a unique machine designed specifically for this
service, pulverizes the bark into fine or coarse particles processed and
marketed directly as, or sold to producers of: Ground cover, mulch, soil
conditioner, animal bedding, potting soil and similar mixtures, compressed
fireplace logs, industrial fuel, flower pots for nurseries, organic based
fertilizers, particle board, hardboard, insulation board, roughage
supplement in livestock feed, filter media, to name a few of innumerable
end uses. This Schutte unit will take any bark material you choose
to feed into it: Wet, stringy, troublesome types that could never be
ground successfully before. An upper ribbed
liner plate and a lower ribbed baffle plate provide the primary grinding
action. These special, Schutte-designed plates break up the bark to such an
extent that no screen is necessary for the production of ground covers,
mulch, soil conditioners, animal bedding and other coarse products of
saleable quality. The Schutte
Bark Grinder features a top feed, which directs the material to the
hammers for instant grinding action. A minimum of wearing parts
contributes to maintenance economy and long service life. Depending upon the species of
bark being ground, Schutte Bark Grinders are designed for ether gravity
discharge or with Schutte's own motor-driven fan system. Years of trouble-free performance are assured by
all-welded, extra-heavy (3/4") boiler plate construction. The rugged rotor
features thicker-than-normal discs. A heavy, heat-treated alloy steel
drive shaft, supported by oversize self-aligning ball bearings enclosed in
dustproof housings, resists the shock of overloads. Self-contained, the Schutte
Bark Grinder requires minimum floor space. Only one, extra heavy shaft is
used. Troublesome, awkward auxiliary shafts, belts, and pulleys are
eliminated. The inlet hopper is attached to the machine in a fixed
position for a permanent feeding setup, allowing the grinder to be placed
close to a wall or in tight corners. Heavy notched hammers are made from fine, close grain,
specially hardened steel. They retain their sharpness and have the
toughness to withstand wear. For applications involving extreme wear,
heavy, hard-faced strap hammers which retain their sharpness longer, are
available also. The motor mounting, an integral part of the grinder, can be arranged for either direct or V-belt drives. (V-belt drive is recommended for use with slower speed motors or power units.) |
